Qualifications

From basics to special know-how

We offer basic, vocational and specialist qualifications. In order to obtain a qualification, students have to pass a competence-based test to show their skills. All the qualifications meet the national requirements set by the National Board of Education.

Basic qualification provides the basic skills needed in the field for those without any earlier experience of the field.

Vocational qualification provides the skills of a professional in the field for those with 3-5 years of work experience.

Special vocational qualification provides the skills needed on the more demanding tasks in the field for those with five or more years of work experience.

The National Board of Education in Finland has defined a competence-based qualifications system. Although formal preparation is not required for candidates, a majority of them attend training. TAKK provides preparatory training for adults wanting to gain qualifications.
