The training is aimed at English speaking people with an immigrant background who are interested in the wide range of employment opportunities in the cleaning sector.

Content

Do you want to work in the cleaning sector? The training is aimed at English speaking people with an immigrant background who are interested in the wide range of employment opportunities in the cleaning sector. Future jobs may include cleaning work in educational institutions, day-care centres, hotels and accommodation facilities, shopping centres, retail stores, care homes, etc.

You do not need to have any previous cleaning skills or experience, but you need to be willing to learn the trade and find employment in the cleaning sector.
You should have:

• A willingness to work in a customer service environment
• Fluent English
• Good basic health

Additional information
The training includes practical and theoretical full-time learning at the school, and on-the-job training in the workplace. The training provides an opportunity to master basic level of skills, designed to help you to find employment in the cleaning sector. Teaching is in English. The training also includes lessons of Finnish language for customer service situations.

During the training, two units of the Vocational Qualification in Cleaning and Property Services are completed:

• Provision of Customer Orientated Cleaning and Property Services, 15 cp
• Maintenance Cleaning Services, 45 cp

During the training, you will have the opportunity to participate in licence card trainings in Finnish language. Available trainings include Occupational Safety Card and FRC First Aid Course EA 1. For the Occupational Safety Card training, you can receive instructions in plain Finnish language before taking the test.

• Duration of training: 6th Oct 2025 27th Feb 2026/ in accordance to the CDP, Competence Development Plan
• Training does not include holidays.

Additional Information about the Training:
Labour market training is free of charge for the student. During the training, you can receive unemployment benefits and reimbursement of expenses. Labour market training is primarily intended for unemployed persons, or persons threatened with unemployment, and who are registered as a job seeker.
