Basics of Special Diet Meals

The aim in this training is to learn the basics about different food allergies and intolerances and become aware of how to take them into account when cooking special diet meals in a professional kitchen.

Content

In this crash course, you will learn about different food allergies and intolerances.
You will become familiar with the most common special diets (e.g. lactose-free, gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, egg-free).
You will find out about foods that pose challenges in professional kitchens.
You will learn to understand and interpret the ingredient lists of different kind of products.
You will familiarise yourself with various vegetarian and vegan meals and the different plant-based proteins used in home and professional kitchens.
You will also get a variety of practical tips on cooking and seasoning.

Duration

Contact learning, one afternoon, three hours. The three-hour training will be conducted from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Location

The contact days are held at Tampere Adult Education Centre, Address: Tampereen valtatie 15.

Price

Training is paid online at the time of registration. For corporate customers we will send an invoice after the training is finished. Please, provide the company´s and contact person´s details at the time of registration. You can register multiple participants on the same form (price per person).

Time for applying

Participants are accepted for the training in the order of registration. An invitation and detailed information will be sent by email about a week before the training starts. Turnout minimum 8 people, maximum 15 people.

Cancellation policy

Registration is binding. Cancellation of participation must be made 14 days before the start of the training.

For cancellations made later, we will charge the company 50 % of the training fee. If the payment was made online at the time of registration, we will refund 50 % of the fee. If participation is cancelled on the day when training is already ongoing, we will not refund the fee.

If the training is cancelled or interrupted due to reasons caused by the institution (TAKK), all fees will be refunded in full. Th institution is not responsible for any additional costs that may arise from cancellations. Notification of the cancellation of the training will be sent by email or text message.
