Tuition fees will not be charged, for example, to citizens of EU and EEA countries, those with a permanent residence permit, or those studying in labor market training or TUVA training.
The change is based on national legislation and applies to all vocational education providers in Finland. Collecting the tuition fee is not optional. By law, the education provider must collect the tuition fee from those individuals who are legally obligated to pay it.
The educational institution must determine whether the applicant is subject to the tuition fee obligation. The applicant provides basic information about their situation on the application form, and based on that, TAKK verifies the matter with the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri).
How much is the tuition fee?
Education providers, such as TAKK, determine their own tuition fees and practices. The fee must cover all study costs: the educational institution does not receive state funding for students required to pay tuition fees. Tuition must be paid before the start of the program.
TAKK’s website lists the tuition fees for TAKK’s vocational qualifications. Prices can also be found in the program descriptions. The fees for further and specialist vocational qualifications can be found in the program descriptions on the website. Tuition fees at TAKK range from €10,000 to just over €17,000, depending on the qualification.
The course fee may be lower than the tuition fee for the corresponding qualification if the course lasts less than a year.
